Award History

This Award is named for William E. Fleming in grateful recognition of his outstanding example and legacy of fair dealing, community involvement, faith in GOD, and service to his fellow man.

Award Criteria

This Award may be presented annually to honor the member of the REALTOR^® Commerical Alliance who best exemplifies the highest professional standards of a commercial REALTOR® , and whose life reflects a commitment to GOD, family and community.

Specific considerations for the Award are the nominee's real estate work experience, participation in the RCA and other professional organizations, and church/civic involvement.

Nomination Process

On or before August 1st of each year, the Governors cause a nomination submission form prepared by the Fleming Award Committee, to be made available to members and affiliates. Nominations must be received in the SABOR office no later than 5:00 p.m. on September 1st of each year. Please refer to the nomination form (Exhibit 1). (Affiliates and non-resident members do not qualify for the Award.)

Selection Committee

The Selection Committee consists of the current RCA Chairman, the immediate past recipient and the Fleming Award Committee Chair.

By October 15th, the Selection Committee reviews the nominations and selects from two to no more than four finalists.

Voting Process

By November 1st, the Governors vote by secret ballot on the finalists using a maximum score of 25 points per category. The Fleming Award Committee ranks the Governors scoring points in a weighted manner with each Governor's first choice receiving four points, second choice receiving three points, third choice receiving two points, and the fourth choice receiving one point. The RCA Chairman and the Fleming Award Committee Chairman count the ballots to determine the winner, who is not announced until the annual William E. Fleming presentation.

Award Presentation

The Award is presented annually at the SABOR Installation Dinner and/or other function deemed appropriate by the RCA Board of Governors.

Other Information

Annually it is requested that the Board of Governors review the award information and make any changes necessary.
